Rick Kowalczyk – Founder and Managing Partner
Rick is the founder and Managing Partner of Medallurgy, LLC. Motivated and inspired by helping marketing teams take bold leaps forward to accomplish audacious goals, Rick formed Medallurgy to bring strategic planning and implementation excellence to world class companies to help them bridge the gap between good and great performance.
A business executive and strategy consultant with 19 years experience, Rick leads initiatives to help clients connect the strategic dots between their marketing initiatives and business objectives by developing actionable strategies that deliver measurable and business relevant results. Medallurgy engagements leverage his broad experience as an executive and consultant with Procter and Gamble, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, and Digitas/Modem Media to enable clients to capture greater value. Rick brings particular strength in interactive marketing and CRM to the table.
Rick has an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, with a focus on business strategy and marketing. He earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Detroit.
Dan Thibodeau, Principal, Ux Research
Dan has been leading the user research practice at Medallurgy for the past 6 years, focusing on qualitative studies for user experiences across multiple channels and devices. He has partnered with a variety of Fortune 500 companies, including Intel, Safeway, Covidien, UCSF, JP Morgan Chase, Visa, and Sprint among others. His projects have covered website and mobile interface studies, heuristic analyses, remote studies, quantitative analysis, and contextual inquiries. Dan has also developed a specialty in eye tracking studies.
Dan has been in the interactive world for over 16 years, and has been involved in every aspect of interface design and development, including project management and client services. Throughout that time, he has been deeply involved with and interested in interaction design, user behavior analysis and testing, and has either led or managed numerous research projects.
Previous to his interactive career, Dan was an academic, and was Lecturer at UC Santa Barbara, where he did his graduate studies in Classics.
